To create a new text message, choose New SMS from the speed bar or menu.
A window provides edit boxes to enter the destination phone number and to type in the message text. You can select one or more entries from your address book by clicking the ‘To’ button. If you type in the phone number manually, you can choose the ‘Add to Contacts’ button to add the item to your address book.
The window will show the message count and character count as you type.
You can also create new text messages from an existing text message by choosing the ‘Reply’, ‘Reply with original’ or ‘Forward’ options. The displayed dialog behaves exactly as the new message dialog.
