Starting the installed software
During software installation process a program menu item and desktop shortcut have been set to allow the user to start Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite.
Depending on how the start-up settings have been set (see Startup – Manual start is default) Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite will automatically start-up when windows is loaded or the user will need to start the application manually either from the desktop icon or program menu. By default you will need to manually start the application on first use.
The application will be started and assuming a supported device is connected to the computer the software will automatically connect this device.
Starting the embedded software
When the device is connected to the computer its USB disk will be accessed – recognised by windows and in due course Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite will load and run. Note: A pre-requisite is that CD autorun is not disabled on the specific computer.
If the application is running – this can be seen by the presence of a Vodafone Icon in the Windows Notification Area.
To verify hover over the icon and it will display its name.
The Systray icon will display a green tick to indicate that it is connected to a phone or other connected modem. On some devices (with only a single “com port”), the green tick disappears when a network connection is made. On other devices (with “dual com ports”) the green tick is present even when a network connection is made.
If the client is not visible right click the mouse when over the icon and a menu will be presented.
By selecting Launch Client the client application will appear – see Launch Client
